  I create one-of-a-kind hand-lettered artwork, murals, and illustrations. Through custom artwork, my clients and I are able to create branded spaces that draw people in. My passion for typography and illustration is paired with nearly a decade of experience in strategic driven marketing. Together, we create customized solutions with panache.

  I specialize in teaching typography and text design, emphasizing a holistic approach that combines both analog and digital techniques to equip students with comprehensive skills in visual communication.

• Postern

  Senior Graphic Designer November 2015–October 2021, Frederick, Maryland
  As the senior graphic designer at Postern, I brought concepts to life through illustrations, hand-lettering, and traditional design methods. By keeping the client involved and engaged throughout the process I was able to fully submerse myself into the goals and objectives of every project. As a team lead on some of Postern’s most elaborate projects, I’ve had the opportunity to work for clients such as Visit Frederick, Visit Howard County, FightCRC, Heartly House, and Downtown Frederick Partnership. Previously known as Jean Peterson Design.

• American Advertising Federation of Greater Frederick (AAF-GF)

  Board President August 2019–August 2021
  I joined the local AAF-GF Board in 2017 as Education Chair, first serving as Portfolio Bootcamp Co-Chair. I’ve held positions such as Vice President, American Advertising Awards Chair, and President. The club keeps members educated in their area of expertise, practice their networking skills, and celebrate the success of their creative endeavors. It was AAF-GF who got me in a room with my future employers back in 2013 as a student.

• Chalk Festivals & Street Art

  Hanover, Pennsylvania
  Main Street Hanover and I worked together to create a series of chalk illustrations for their community events. Most recently, part of their 2nd Saturday Event where I drew seven illustrations scattered throughout Downtown Hanover.

  Middletown, Maryland
  I’ve had the pleasure of participating in the Middletown Chalk Festival as a featured artist twice. Hundreds of people walk by as you draw your creation live on the streets of Downtown Middletown.

  Frederick, Maryland
  Downtown Frederick Partnership hosts Chalk Art competitions on a semi-regular basis. As a participant, I’ve created one-of-a-kind pieces of large street chalk art featuring typographically lettered mantras such as, “You’re in the right place,” “You got this,” and “Just Keep Going”

• Millersville University

  Graphic Designer April 2015–October 2015, Millersville, Pennsylvania
  This position includes assisting in the design and production of University publications in print and digital platforms. Meeting with clients to maintain and communicate quality standards for publications.

• Lebanon Valley College

  Graphic Designer August 2013–April 2015, Annville, Pennsylvania
  Responsibilities included the design, coordination, and production of all internal and external College publications. This included meeting with campus clients, preparing specifications, coordinating proofing, and delivery and mailing of finished pieces.

• Elizabethtown College

  Internship May 2012–August 2012, Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania
  Designed, photographed, and produced the 2012 Bird Guide, a publication for incoming freshmen. Multiple projects were also assigned by the lead graphic designer.
